- Summary
- Comedy directed by Woody Allen with a star-studded cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Penelope Cruz and Jesse Eisenberg. The film follows a number of different characters who form a part of the life of Rome, from natives of the city to those drawn there by its magnetism or their own compulsions. Architect John (Baldwin) belongs firmly in the latter camp as he returns to the city to revisit the time he spent there in his youth. He falls in with a younger architect, Jack (Eisenberg), and attempts to offer him the benefit of his life experience. Elsewhere, an ordinary Roman man, Leopoldo (Roberto Benigni) wakes up bemused to find himself a celebrity, while the love of a newly married couple is tested by their encounter with a high-class prostitute, Anna (Cruz). Allen also makes an appearance in the film as a worried father who flies over from America when he hears that his daughter, Hayley (Alison Pill), has fallen in love in Rome and intends to stay there
