- Summary
- Children's animated adventure directed by Travis Knight. The story follows Kubo (voice of Art Parkinson), a kind-hearted young boy caring for his mother in a peaceful Japanese seaside town. Kubo's relatively sheltered life changes forever when he accidentally summons an evil spirit from the past, which storms his home to enforce an age-old vendetta. Forced to flee, Kubo teams up with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) to begin an epic quest to save his family and unravel the mystery surrounding his father, a fallen samurai master. With the help of his new companions, Kubo is able to master the untold power behind his mother's mystical stringed instrument and his father's legendary suit of armour. Now, with the magic of Kubo's family driving them forward, the trio do battle against ferocious monsters and vengeful gods in order to fulfil their heroic destinies
